WEST PASCO QUILTERS' GUILD, INC.
OPERATION HOMEFRONT QUILTS

One of West Pasco Quilters' Guild
Members, Jessica Porter, was age 20 when she began receiving National
Attention with her
desire to make quilts for all the families of the soldiers
who have given their lives
in the war in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Jessica started this project independently, then brought it to the West
Pasco Quilters' Guild early in 2003 with her request for our help. The
Guild happily agreed and is proud to be assisting Jessica in this
endeavor. Since then, many more have joined forces in this
wonderful project. Fabric, thread and batting have been
donated by manufacturing companies. Marathons and Quilting Bees
have been held across the nation with quilters banding together in
support. Sewing machine manufacturers have joined in and Quilts have
been made by individuals and Quilt Guilds across the country.
Here are just a few:
Ronnie M., Bellerose, NY (made 136)
Hernando Quilt Guild, Spring Hill, FL
Caprock Quilters, Clovis, NM
Stitching with Mary, Martinsburg, WV
Prairie Star Quilters, Fairmont, MN
Ozone Layers Quilt Guild, Mandeville, LA
Mary H., Gail C., Dawn W., & Friends, Pittsford, NY
Thank you
to the many people and companies who have donated their time
and resources
to make this dream a reality for the hundreds of families
of our fallen soldiers.
