KISS - Keep It Simple Sewing

There are children in need of hugs and kisses each day. The members of the WPQG share our hugs and kisses through our quilting. Each month Charity Outreach collects and distributes children's quilts and pillowcases for the little ones to snuggle with. Here are a few patterns that we use in our monthly KISS workshops on the fourth Friday of each month. We gather at Veterans Park or Contractors Institute, both in Hudson, from 9:30 till about 3:00. The locations change from time to time so contact the W.P.Q.G. Charity Outreach Chairpersons for current meeting location. Bring your children's themed fabric, cutting and sewing supplies along with your sewing machine and your lunch and come join us while we stitch. WE HAVE A NEED

From time to time our Charity Outreach Team learns of a special need in our community. Sometimes it is school supplies for local children, food for the local food pantry, Hospital gowns & clothing protectors for patients in Hospice or local nursing homes. What ever the need, our guild members reach into their hearts, fabric stash or wallets to help meet these needs. Check out the Charity Outreach table at our guild meetings to find out how you can help in the community.

HEALING HEARTS

From time to time we have a Guild member who suffers the loss of a loved one. Since quilters are nurturers, by nature, we want to help our fellow quilter start to heal. We collect Healing Heart Blocks and present them to our fellow guild member so they will know that though they may feel very alone in their grief, we are there to hold them tight and help them through. When the recipient of these blocks, pieces them together in the making of a quilt, the Love, Prayers and Thoughts of every person who made a block is felt. The healing embrace of the guild is felt forever.
